Located at Calgary Bay and set up in 1999 by Calgary Arts, Art in Nature aims to site sculpture within the woodland Nature Trail, thus provoking and encouraging a general awareness of art in nature. The work featured ranges in medium: from that which is traditional for outdoor works, such as stone, wood, willow, metal and mosaic; to more unusual contemporary materials, like mixed-media, concrete, and found objects.
Onsite there is also a gallery featuring the work of furniture maker and sculptor Matthew Reade, who takes inspiration from the sea, the hills and Calgary Bay.
The walk is open to the public all year round. Guides are available for a £1 donation, and can be obtained from the Tearoom.
